HANSEL + GRETEL
TITLE SEQUENCE
I collaborated with the incredibly talented Riley Williamson for this kinetic typography project for a book title sequence.
Together we decided to create a sequence for the popular Grimm's Fairytale Hansel and Gretel - taking a more modern, contemporary design approach to tell the story. We focused on the temptation of sweets (donuts, candy and cake), which was the method in which the witch in the classic tale lured the children to her evil cottage.
We also paid special attention to the use of lighting to tell the story - transitioning from light to dark (much like the story itself). The tunnel offers that transition - alluring and drawing the viewer into a somewhat disturbing environment.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT + PROCESS
This was my first time using Cinema 4d on a team project, and at the time, I was only a few weeks into taking the course at SCAD. I am incredibly grateful for the patience Riley gave me throughout the design process and, in turn, learned so much from her as we worked on this sequence together. Highlights of my specific contributions in this project are concept development, the rock candy and tunnel sequences.

INITIAL STORYBOARD
The initial storyboard for the project featured scenes from the fairy tale, and after receiving feedback, the concept evolved into more of an abstract interpretation of sweets and temptation.
